The house is in the beautiful village of Hallenberg, in the southeastern part of Sauerland. Hallenberg is located at over four hundred meters. The hills in the vicinity of the village reach up to six hundred meters.
Surroundings
Hallenberg is a lively village with numerous facilities within walking distance in and around the village. The village still has many traditional, artisanal companies such as bakers and butchers. In addition, larger stores such as two supermarkets are also present. The village has a rich association and middle class tradition, which means that many cultural activities are organized. Well-known activities are the annual celebration of the Schutenzefest, Carnival and Easter, but other Catholic holidays are also celebrated exuberantly. In the village there are many monumental buildings and the heart of the village (and also the house on Burgstrasse 12) is a protected townscape. The many half-timbered houses really appeal to the imagination. In the "Kump" in the middle of the village you will regularly find a nice exhibition in addition to the Tourist Office. Hallenberg is also nationally known for its Freilichtbuhne, which provides performances for young and old in the summer months. You will find numerous restaurants in the village. From the simple Imbiss and pizzeria to a good restaurant. In Hallenberg there are also a number of shops selling delicious ice cream. In the immediate vicinity of Hallenberg you will find larger towns such as Winterberg, Frankenberg and Willingen. These villages are a fifteen minute drive away and also have all kinds of facilities.
Activities
Hiking You can enjoy great walks in the surroundings of our holiday homes. You can walk straight from the house into the beautiful surroundings where all kinds of short and long walking routes have been laid out. You can take short and long walks through the hills, forests and meadows, but certainly also in and around the village. The routes are of course also interesting for Nordic walkers. If you have difficulty walking, then flatter and short routes are also possible. In the surroundings of Hallenberg are well-known hiking trails such as the Rohaarsteig and Kahler Asten. The tourist office (200 m) is happy to advise you!
Swimming In Hallenberg you will find a beautiful new outdoor swimming pool. This Naturbad is really an attraction and worth a visit in the summer. In winter you can visit the Hallenbad, which was renovated in 2012. If you want to go to a special swimming pool, then beautiful, modern subtropical baths are available in Olsberg and Winterbeg (a short distance away).
Cycling / Mountain biking Cyclists can really enjoy the beautiful landscape. There is something to experience for all cyclists, whether you are on a regular bicycle, mountain bike, cycling bike or e-bike. A large number of well-known and less well-known, long and short routes are available. Cyclists are really taken into account in Sauerland. For example, consider the Sauerland, SauerlandRadring and RuhrtalRadweg bike arena.
Ski and cross-country skiing In the winter you can really go to Sauerland. The ski resorts of Winterberg, Zuschen and Willingen are a short distance from the property. Hundreds of kilometers of slopes and trails are available for beginners and experienced winter sports enthusiasts. You can enjoy yourself on the slopes and trails for days and also switch well between the ski areas. The prices for day and week tickets are attractive and you can get good lessons locally or rent equipment at reasonable prices. The après ski is also highly recommendable. In Zuschen (6 km) there is also a descent especially for sleds (with lift); a really great experience for the kids.
